Jeremy Asher Lynch was born on a chicken farm in Hebron, Maryland, and grew up like a tumbleweed with a camera, drifting from Alaska to Florida before landing in California. At eight years old, armed with a PXL-2000, he began making short films and skate videos that preserved the wild spirit of youth culture.

Lynch’s work has always balanced rawness with resonance. Tomgirl—his acclaimed short documentary about a gender non-conforming seven-year-old—screened at more than 50 festivals worldwide, earned a Vimeo Staff Pick, and was hailed by The Huffington Post as “beautiful and inspiring.” The film went on to collect accolades including the Emerging Filmmaker Award at TIGLFF, Best Cinematography at the Seattle Shorts Film Festival, and both Documentary and Grand Prize honors at Stonewall Columbus LGBTFest. His other films, from The Hippo (a meditation on grief through the eyes of a homeless boy) to Remind Me to Forget (an atmospheric surf odyssey), have each gathered awards for their evocative storytelling and visual power.

As a commercial director and cinematographer, Lynch has shaped campaigns for Apple, Google, Cadillac, T-Mobile, and Red Bull, bringing his instinct for human connection into the language of modern advertising.

Beyond film, he is a self-taught painter and photographer whose exhibitions stretch from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Barcelona and London. Shepard Fairey included his work in a San Francisco show, which led to a collaboration with Dr. Martens on its first-ever Artist Series boot.

Lynch is currently in post-production on Here & There, a verité-style documentary series following four female golfers at different stages of their careers. The project weaves together stories of resilience, individuality, and sacrifice—an extension of the themes that have always run through his work.
