"‘A Tooth Amongst Teeth’ is a deeply personal piece, rooted in a photo I took in 1996 of my friend Leo. At the time, Leo was a huge mentor and father figure in my life, though he may not have known it. The title comes from ‘The Cloud of Unknowing,’ a book of mysticism, reflecting the profound impact he had on me amidst the chaos. This painting is a tribute to those who guide us quietly and steadfastly.
